While November is recognized as a time of Remembrance, for the Legion and for many across the country, Remembrance is a year-long commitment. Consider that there are many opportunities available to anyone wishing to show their appreciation for those who served:
Become more knowledgeable about the experiences of war and conflict by visiting the Canadian War Museum website or by reading the Legion Magazine, a Canadian publication that covers a wide range of topics related to military history or
Read about or listening to the first-hand experiences of veterans.
Make time to reflect on the freedoms and advantages you have due to the service of veterans.
Volunteer your time to organizations that help Veterans and
their families.
Honour a Veteran in the Military Service Recognition Book
Wear a poppy in November or Attend a Remembrance Day ceremony.
Become a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Invite a Veteran to speak to a class or community group.
Make a donation to the Legion’s Poppy Trust Fund
Say "Thank You" in person or by writing to a Veteran or serving member of the Canadian Armed Forces through the Department of National Defence website.
